Food and Fitness Committee
The Adamsdown Food and Fitness Committee are here to help the school community live a healthy lifestyle. The Committee includes pupils from Year 1 through to Year 6. We have a proactive and whole school approach to being a healthy school.
The Food and Fitness Committee hold an important role in the school and meet every few weeks to discuss and implement actions agreed on.
- During the academic year the committee will review policies, meet with the link governor, promote and organise health initiative days or weeks.
- We will continue to highlight healthy lunchbox, healthy eating, sun safety and hand hygiene week. The Committee will also promote health programmes in the community and on a national level.
- The Food and Fitness Committee will strive to ensure the health and wellbeing of pupils is the priority for all learners. We work together to ensure the voice of all pupils is heard.
- The committee will ensure healthy messages are communicated to pupils, staff, parents and governors through meetings, newsletters and assemblies.
In 2016 Adamsdown Primary was the 4th school in Cardiff to achieve the National Quality Award in Healthy Schools. As a school we were reaccredited with this prestigious award in 2018 and 2021. Every year since we have continued to work hard with the support of the Food and Fitness Committee to ensure we retain this prestigious award.
The Food and Fitness Committee are here to help, so please look out for us in our yellow caps!
